I delayed the posting of this entry because Elizabeth wanted to glory in pole position for a week. Now she's had her moment.
Elizabeth forgot to mention that I have been composing haiku for your meditation and surrogate Crystal experience:
Cool breeze, blue water
Children stampede the beach front
Lake ick everywhere.
or
Red and blue berries,
juicy peaches, fruit abounds;
Cool Spot beckons me
How about
Point Betsie sunsets
Glow orange, crimson, violet
Skipping stones strike heads.

I'm not sure how it happened,but your last haiku has become some transcendental experience that expands space and time. Seems someone in THIS Cook family (not naming names) also experienced a crimson and violet sunset at a lake and a rogue stone skipped into their head.
We also experienced a library book sale where I bought a paper grocery sack for a dollar and filled it up. Needless to say, we too are smug and our bookshelves are a little more saggy and a little more musty.
See? We are all connected.
Well done, sister. A fine meshing of the beauty and the carnage that befall Crystal Lake in the summertime.
